Check-in procedures
As Turkish Airlines, we offer various check-in options. According to your preference, you can check-in via our website or mobile app, through our kiosks at the airport, or at the check-in counters. It is recommended that you arrive at the airport 10 minutes before departure for domestic flights and 5 minutes before departure for international flights to ensure that you have enough time for baggage and security processes.
Online check-in
By checking-in via the Turkish Airlines mobile application or website, you can save time by making your own seat selection. You can also proceed to the boarding gate without waiting in line, and benefit from the convenience of a mobile boarding pass.
What is online
check-in?
Online check-in refers to checking-in via our website or mobile application. By utilizing the online check-in option, you can save time and avoid lines. If you have baggage, you can proceed directly to the baggage drop counter.
How do I check in online?
To check in online, type your reservation code (PNR) and surname in the appropriate screen on the website or mobile application. With online check-in, you can send your mobile boarding pass to your phone and print it out.
When can I check in online?
Online check-in is open from 24 hours to 90 minutes before departure. It is recommended that you arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure for domestic flights and 3 hours before departure for international flights to ensure that you have enough time for baggage and security processes.
The Mobile Boarding Pass: Whatever it takes for a cleaner planet
You can help reduce paper waste and do the earth a small but signifaicant favour by using a mobile boarding pass on your flights. Helping Mother Earth is not the only good reason for getting the electronic boarding pass. You can easily use it through your smartphones and simultaneously put an end to the endless search for your tickets before boarding. With the mobile boarding pass, you will be able to get through the ticket control fast and easily and even save yourself time. You can proceed directly to the boarding gate if you do not need to check baggage. If you have baggage to check, you can deliver it to the baggage counter and then proceed to the boarding gate.
What is counter check-in?
Check-in is completed at our counters in the airport. You can proceed to the applicable Turkish Airlines counter, where you can submit your documents and obtain a boarding pass. If you have baggage, you can also check it here.
How do I check in at the counter?
You can complete baggage and flight check-in procedures by presenting your identity card (driver’s license, marriage certificate), passport and special status documents (health report, discount, etc.) to our counter personnel.
When can I check in at the counter?
Counter check-in closes 45 minutes before departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes before departure for international flights. This time may vary at some stations (e.g., 120 minutes before flights from Caracas, Lagos, Abuja).
Preferential check-in with Business Class
If you have chosen to travel in Business Class, you can enjoy extra privileges during check-in. You can avoid the lines and gain time by checking in at one of our special Business Class desks at the airport.
